Internet withdrawal

I haven't had internet for the last couple weeks, my computer got a virus and I've been fixing it. I forget how much I use the internet, then I didn't have it and I felt like couldn't do anything. But my computers up and running now.

I finished the front panel on my son's weasley sweater. My first attempt at the A wound up getting frogged since I messed up horribly, but now I think it looks good.

I also finished a baby blanket for my sister, just in time int time for the shower next week. I also made a cap and will make some booties and a cardigan as well.

Yarn of the Month!

My first yarn of the month came. All food based yarns. I was so excited to see the envelope, I squeeled and got weird looks from my kids. Here it all is.

The first on the left is Bebe Cotsoy by Queensland Collection, 50% cotton, 50% soy. This yarn is very soft and feels nice, doesn't really smell like anything, and I really like the shade of blue I got.
Second is Maizy by Crystal Palace Yarns, 82% corn fiber, 18% nylon. This would probably make good socks and smells planty. I like the texture, not too soft, but not scratchy. It's kind of smooth.
Third, and my favorite, is Milk Cotton DK by Rowan. I love this shade of green, dark and mossy. It smells a little sweet, and is soo soft. I have to buy more of this, but I'm trying to hold off on buying more yarn until I use up at least half of my stash.
Fourth is Amaizing by SWTC, 100% corn fiber. Love the name. Nice color and interesting texture, it reminds me of webbing. The colors are nice, and this yarn doesn't really smell like anything.
I also got a pattern for a cute little bib that I will make for my nephew due in Oct.
Overall I'm very happy with my first Yarn of the Month and can't wait for next month.

Preschool and Jaywalking

My son started preschool again this week, and is so excited to go back to school. He learned so much and a lot of it didn't hit me until I compared his first week this year to last year. He sits and eats so much better for one. Last year he wouldn't serve himself food but now he washes his hands, sits in his seat, and serves his fodd all by himself. He also recognizes his name now and can almost write it. His coloring is much better also. He used to justgrab one crayon and scribble, but now he tries to stay in the lines and uses more than one color. I guess this doen't sound like much, but to me he's amazing. My baby's getting so big.
On to the knitting I've started knitting the Jaywalker socks. My first attempt at socks. I hate tall socks so I'm making them ankle socks. I'm using Zwerger Garn Opal Neon, and I love the color, so bright. Here's my progress so far:

New Projects & Pay It Forward

My first new project is a sweater for my son. I've decided to try the Weasley Sweater for him. Here's my progress so far:

I have to admit when I first started knitting I was overly ambitious and tried to knit him a sweater. Here are the results:

As you can see it didn't turn out the way I expected, but he loved it anyways. Now after four years of kntting I've decided to try a sweater again. Wish me luck.

Next I made jumped into some origami and made this cute little box to hold the stitch markers I'm going to make with some cute beads I bought, along with some stuff from an old jewelry set.

I get bored a lot with things. Hence the number of projects. I like to have several things going at any given time so I can flit back and forth like a hummingbird(with a little more chaos left in my wake).

My last project I've started, and one I'm really looking forward to is a pay it forward project. I am paying it forward from Firefly Nights blog The way it works is the first three people to comment who want topayit forward I will send something to in the next 365 days. It will most likely be something handmade by me, and all they have to do in return is do the same in their blog, pay it forward to three more people.

I have to say I love the idea of doing nice things for people and i hope I will get three people soon.

New Yarn!!

I love to buy yarn. I'm a very compulsive yarn shopper. Shopping for yarn relaxes me as much as knitting or crocheting does. I love to find nifty new yarns. Something soft or sparkley, colorful or cute. I especially love to be surprised with yarn, So when I came across this, etsy listing, I just had to buy it.
A few days later I'm rewarded with a boxfull of pretty new yarns. And now I have so many plans. The white can be for crocheted angels for my grandma. The blue for hats and booties for my nephew, who will be born this October. And of course squares for my blanket. I'm so excited I can't wait to get started.

Stitch Markers and some Crochet

I tried making myself some stitch markers out of the polymer clay I had left over, and they look kinda funky. I like the colors but the shape didn't stay very circular. I guess I'll try again.

I crocheted this square:

I found the pattern here: http://www.geocities.com/cdjsimon/cableheart.html
It's for a blanket I plan on making for myself out of the squares I've collected. I love to make squares so whenevr i come across a neat square pattern, I make it. Here's what I've got so far:

That's my kitty George walking across my squares.

There are quite a few different shaped squares in there so I'm not sure how i'm going to make them all fit once I'm done. Maybe I'l make a few rectangles to try and even everything out.
